Re: [w3c/editing] CfC: Publish the "ContentEditable" draft spec as a FPWD, and then immediately republish as a Discontinued Draft (Issue #480)

Hey again,
it sounds like there are no more arguments being made in this case. This document has had a significant place in the development of thoughts that within this WG (previously TF). We may even be forced to go back to it, or parts of it in the future. So just archiving the github repository would be problematic, especially if a few years from now, Github could change its policy and delete old archives entirely.

Therefore I don't see much of an alternative to publish it either as a note or a discontinued draft, as in that way we get a permanent copy of the document in a reliable ___location. Both CfCs passed, as there was no direct objection mentioned in either one. @frivoal merely mentioned that a discontinued draft would be preferable from a W3C branding and patent policy standpoint, and @annevk voiced his concerns about the legality of publishing a FPWD given our charter - which, as I understand @plehegar's comment, turns out to be legal.

Given the amount of time that has gone into this, the fact I have worked on an unsalaried volunteer basis on this document, and that it sounds like there is slightly more opposition toward publishing it as a discontinued draft from @annevk than opposition from @frivoal to publish it as a note (which we have previously done with other documents), I propose that we publish it as a note now and do not waste excessive amounts of time on this document beyond this, at least not until we suddenly figure out that we need to go back to this document for some reason.

How would that sound @plehegar @siusin? Or would @annevk and @frivoal prefer we put it on the next charter and then publish it as FPWD/discontinued draft then?
