The Institute for Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods (AIFB) at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, is one of the world-wide leading institutes in creating the Semantic Web, the next step in the evolution of the World Wide Web. Thereby we work in an interdisciplinary team including computer scientists, mathematicians, business engineers and information scientists. Starting May 1st, we have open positions in two international projects for post-docs as well as for researchers working towards a Ph.D. in the following areas: Ontologies, Machine Learning, Web Mining, Semantic Web, Logic Foundations of Knowledge Representation, Information Extraction, Emergent Semantics, Peer-to-Peer. The positions require working knowledge of the German language. Please find more details below. Ab Mai 2002 sind in zwei internationalen Projekten mit Partnern aus Industrie und anderen Universit�ten folgende befristete Stellen zu besetzen: zwei Projektleiter(innnen), BAT Ib wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter(innen), BAT IIa Die Themen umfassen die Bereiche Ontologien, Machine Learning, Web Mining, Semantic Web, Logische Grundlagen der Wissensrepr�sentation, Informationsextraktion, Emergent Semantics, Peer-to-Peer. Voraussetzung f�r die Projektleiterstelle ist die Promotion. Bewerbungsschluss ist der 14. April 2002.
