Attached is a PDF of the meeting minutes from Apr 14th, 2025. Executive summary: - Revisited parallel decoding - Strong support for working with what we already have. This means the pigz/mtpng method which requires no spec change. - For a change to the spec (the new chunk method), we want to gather as many ideas and as much test data as we can before picking something to standardize. This is a call to action for implementers: Please show timings and file size comparisons for a wide range of test images. - Gain maps / gain curves / T.35 / rWTm - Almost certainly going into Fourth Edition. - Google, Apple, NBC Universal, and the new SMPTE spec will clarify in the next few weeks. We'll wait until then for specifics. But we can see the industry need & push. - Generic image-like data - Probably not going into Fourth Edition. It is significant complexity and might not provide sufficient benefit. - This might be revisited depending on gain maps. - A Call for Consensus will go out to agree on Third Edition transitioning to Proposed Recommendation. Our next meeting is Apr 28th, 2025. See you then!
